People Pay Tribute to Martyrs on Jiufeng Mountain

Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb-sweeping Day, is a traditional Chinese festival. On this day Chinese people honor the ancestors of Chinese nation. Cleaning the tombs and paying respect to the dead with offerings are the two important. Besides, paying tribute to martyrs is an indispensable activity.


On April 5th, representatives of the Communist Party of China in Wuhan paid tribute to the deceased at Jiufeng Mountain (Nine Peak Mt) Cemetery during the Qingming Festival.


In order to pay tribute to the deceased, remain true to our original aspiration, keep our mission firmly in mind and continue to move forward, the management of Jiufeng Mountain Revolutionary Martyrs organized such an activity. Through this memorial ceremony, members of Communist Party of China are expected to learn, publicize and implement Xi Jinping Thought on NPC&CPPCC and the spirit of the Party’s 19th National Congress last year. Members of the Communist party should learn from revolutionary martyrs, and be role models to others.


Representatives from all kinds of fields attended this ceremony, with representatives from CCNU included. Graduate Students’ Union, Students’ Union, Students’ Association Union, members of CPC among graduate students, Youth Volunteers Association and CCNU Youth of CCNU all sent representatives to sweep tombs.


The ceremony started at 9:00 am. The weather on this day was not friendly, there was a heavy downpour during the whole ceremony. They reviewed their oath for joining the Communist Party of China, and representatives from each made a speech. Then they laid wreaths in homage to the deceased.
