School Introduction
The Law School of Central China Normal University was established on the basis of the original department of Law and the Law major. The Law school of CCNU has started to enroll bachelors in laws from 1988 under the authorization of the Ministry of Education. It’s one of the first non-normal majors of CCNU.From the aspect of talent nourishment, the Law School not only enrolls bachelors coming from the Law department, but also has cooperation with the Economics School and the Business Administration School to open up “the cross experimental class ” to have compound talents for cultivation. The Law School owns the authorization of Master Degree in the first-class subject in law, and there are 6 second-class subjects for Master Degree which has started to enroll students,including economics, civil and commercial law, constitutional and administrative law, international law,furthermore, it also enrolls postgraduates of Laws for specialized majors, and doctoral students in fields of related subjects.
The law school owns powerful sources of teaching talents and a team of delicately structured teachers. The total number of the faculty is 38, including 5 doctoral supervisors, 19 master supervisors, one talent of the “Education Department of the New Century”. The teachers of the Law School have superior academic abilities and strong abilities in scientific researches, enjoying good fame in the field of Law. Nearly half of the teachers have long-term visiting and exchanging experiences in America, England, German, Holland, the Taiwan Region and some overseas places. The Law School has cultivated over 4000 doctors, masters and bachelor graduates of laws since it has founded 20 years ago. There are over 1000 students at present. International students from America, England, Niger, Vietnam, and Laos have been further studying in Law School or for a degree.
The School is now highly regarded among the national legal community for its research abilities as well as its excellent performance in students' cultivation. Especially in commercial law, according to the authority of the relevant departments of statistics, during 2009 and 2001, the commercial law of CCNU’s law school has the core of scientific research ability among national top five law school. The law school also pays highly attention to talent nourishment, emphasizing putting the academic research and teaching together, to serve for the teaching with superior scientific achievements. Many teachers won awards or prizes awarded by the government of Hubei province or the Ministry of Education for their outstanding performance either in teaching or in academic research.
The Law School has set up 6 academic reaching agencies: the reaching center for the legal issues in rural regions, institute of intellectual property, centers for commercial law, and centers for legal issues in investment.
The predecessor of the School of Economics & Business Management at Central Normal University (CCNU), can be traced back to the Economics Department, Huazhong University, founded in 1930s. In 1985, several years after the reform and opening-up, CCNU set up the Department of Urban Economic Administration, which provided the first Real Property curriculum, to meet the rapid social and economic development in China. In 1993, the Economics Department was founded in the former School of Politics & Law, which soon merged with the Department of Urban Economic Administration into the School of Economics. In May of 2012, the School of Economics & Business Management came into being due to the restructuring of the economics and business management related curricula at the University level.At present, there are six departments in the School, providing six undergraduate programs (i.e. Economics, International Economics & Trade , Business Management, Real Property Operation & Administration, Financial Accounting Education and Financial Engineering) and two interdisciplinary undergraduate programs (i.e. Mathematics-Economics Program and Law-Economics Program), which involve two academic disciplines: economics and management. In addition, the School is now running five academic research centers. As to postgraduate programs, the School now offers one doctoral program(i.e. Economic and Social Statistics) and two master programs of the primary discipline (i.e. Theoretic Economics and Applied Economics), consisting of nineteen master programs of the secondary discipline (i.e. Political Economics, Western Economics, World Economy, International Trade, Business Management, Industrial Economics, Finance, Regional Economics, Labor Economics, Land Resources Administration and etc.) and also two professional master programs (i.e. MBA and MAE). Among them, Political Economics is one of the Key Academic Disciplines in Hubei province and Real Property Operation & Administration is awarded the Renowned Majors of Hubei province. Currently, the School has a total faculty of 75 including 63 teaching faculties, 75% of whom are PH.Ds. Among the 63 teaching faculties are 18 professors, 28 associate professor, 18 lecturers and 38 master mentors, 6 doctoral mentors, 2 winners of the Special Allowances of the National Council and 2 winners of the Ministerial of Education Program for New Centurial Excellent Talents.

I. A Brief Introduction to Law Major
The cross-fostering class of CCNU was founded in 2008,it is one of the majors on the compound cross-fostering pilot. Both the law and economics are the hot majors in modern advanced education. Our class base on the highly-qualified teachers coming from the Law School and the Economics and Management School, aims at cultivating the double academic background on law and economics. The students are required to systematically the theoretical knowledge on law and economics, have explosive spirit, that is to say, high-qualified compound talents. Both of the two schools are on the front side of teaching field, providing the most advanced instructions to the students. The objective for setting the major is to provide qualified resource for postgraduates. The majority of graduates are recommended to Renming University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, Nanjing University, Xiamen University and other universities which are on the list of 985,211 for admission in Master Degree on Law or Economics.
II. Educational Objectives
Our major aims at cultivating the specialized ,advanced and compound talents owning good quality on thoughts and academics ,systematically mastering profound knowledge in the theory of laws and skills on legal practice while they have the practical ability, sense of creative and innovation, they can go in for work such as practice, education and research of law in government agencies, enterprises, public institution, and social groups, providing superior source for postgraduates for Law and Economics.
III. Basic Requirements
Graduates of this major are required to systematically master the things as follows: Fundamental theory of law and economics, and relating specialized knowledge, the policies and principles of our Party and nation, the operating principles of market economy, the academic progress of law and economics. They should be equipped with the ability of investigating, analyzing, and operating with the modern means of technique.
The graduates of this major should acquire the knowledge and ability as follows:
1.Owning good thinking and ethical quality, besides, the students should have confidence in themselves, be patient, aesthetic appreciation and always work well with others.
2.Master the fundamental theory and methods on law and economics, the modern methods on analyzing, application on Internet.They should get better acquaintance on the academic progress and outlook from both at home and abroad, get familiar with the policies of our Party and nation, and has relatively strong ability on research.
3.Have creative spirit and the all-life studying ability. The students should search information, then analyze, process, then apply it. Last but not the least, they’d better have scientific thinking methods, habits and creation.
4.Have superior abilities on oral and writing, getting well with others, communicate skillfully with a foreign language.
5. Have healthy physical body and good psychological quality.

All students in the Economics & Business

XI. Explanations
1. The directions of the major and the requirements of taking elective courses are as follows.
The following courses are suggested for the direction of Law:: Chinese Legal History, Private International Law, International Economic Law, Intellectual Property Law, Labor Law and Society Security Law, Environment and Resources Protection Law.
The cultivating direction of economics, these courses are suggested: Linear Algebra A, Probability & Statistics A, Development Economics, Statistics, Contemporary Chinese Economy, History of Economic Thoughts.
2. In the school of Humanities and arts classes, social science, natural science courses and other general elective courses in at least 12 credit course.

4.The requirements of practical teaching and practice of the major: The practice of professional practice accumulated time more than a year, students’ internship of going overseas are encouraged. The students are expected to complete the graduation thesis, a total of 6 credits. The students use winter and summer vacation or dispersed or concentrated training for 4 weeks, counted 4 college credits; the unified arrangement of practice for 6 weeks, is offered in the sixth semester counted credits of 6; In addition, to encourage students to take courses in law and social service, mock court practice, to obtain the corresponding points.
5.Graduation requirements of the major: Students of this specialty should get the credits as required in the limited time, complete all the practice of experiment teaching, foreign language examination results in line with the requirements of CCNU graduates, the thesis defense, granted graduation. The bachelor degree of economics will be awarded to those who have got 90 basic credits, and 20 credits of the cultivating direction of economics.
