Hello everyone, welcome to Movie Buffs. Today’ s recommendation is a war movie about WWII called Enemy at the Gates -《兵临城下》. Actually at first I watched this movie for Jude Law who is also the main actor in Anna Karenina and I was so indulged in his good looking in that movie. So I found Enemy of the Gate which is regarded as his masterpiece.

 

Undoubtedly, this movie surprises me a lot. Law is a Russian sniper in the Soviet Red Army in the Great Patriotic War, during the battle of Stalingrad. His task is to kill the sharpshooter in German army, which is really tough and seems impossible. Bitter campaigns, mass casualties and beautiful, heartbreaking love, all these elements make you can’t help wiping. Law and his best friend fall in love with the same girl who actually loves Law. So his friend once did something to hurt Law for jealousy but finally he sacrifices himself for Law’s winning to the Germany sharpshooter.

 

Fortunately, it is not an entire tragedy, but it still gives people hope.
